From David Hehir, Foreshore Coordinator, City of Port Phillip
In regards to illegal parking on Pier Street, footpath and nature strip, could you please encourage your members to formally register their request for a ‘Parking Officer callout’ on 9209 6777 or assist@portphillip.vic.gov.au day or night.
Phoning during the day or night with a full description of the location and cars blocking footpaths etc, is typically the quickest way to ensure a Parking Officer attends. I have been advised the Pier Street area is included in routine patrols, but they can often be diverted in response to other residents callouts in other parts of the municipality. When the residents calls are formally registered via 9209 6777 or assist@portphillip.vic.gov.au it also helps Council improve the Parking Officer roster times and staffing levels to better match the community demand throughout week.
